Site restrictions
Site restrictions decide where Modula steps in: the whole extension, a particular tool, or the content of a category. They stop a tool from getting in the way on a site, and keep your menus free of texts that don't belong there.
Global and by tool Expert Pro
In Settings → Restrictions, two levels are set the same way, with three modes:
| Mode | Effect |
|---|---|
| Accessible on all sites | No restriction — the default setting |
| Block only on these sites | Everywhere, except on the listed sites |
| Allow only on these sites | Only on the listed sites |
- 🌐 Global restriction: applies to the whole extension, and comes before the others. A site blocked here sees no tool at all.
- ⚙️ By tool: Expander, Sidebar, Overbar, Launcher, SelAction and SmartMails, each on its own, within the limits of the global restriction.
One site per line: a domain (github.com), a path (example.com/app) or a full address.
In her online code editor, Camille often types != and ::. She blocks the Expander on that site, and keeps it everywhere else.
Each tab of the Toolbox recalls, at the bottom, its tool's restriction.
A category's allowed sites Expert Pro
A category can be limited to certain sites: its SmartTexts and SmartMails only appear there, in all tools — RightClick, Sidebar, Launcher, Overbar, SelAction, Expander.
- In the Categories tab, open the category's card.
- In Allowed sites, one site per line. Empty: the category is offered everywhere.
- Save.
“Support” is limited to the company's ticketing tool, “Sales” to the CRM. On each site, Camille only sees the texts she needs there.
Several categories at once: Categories page, ☑ Organize, tick them, and give them the same sites.
Without a Pro licence Expert
Restrictions are reserved for the Pro plan, and included in the trial. After the trial, without a licence, the restrictions already set stay applied — removing them would bring Modula back on sites you had excluded — but they can no longer be changed.
