Your library
Organize
Organize mode ticks several items to act on all of them at once: give them a category, mark them as favourites, export, convert or delete them. It's the tidying tool, after an import or as the library grows.
Entering Organize mode Advanced
In the SmartTexts and SmartMail tabs, click the ☑ Organize button, just before the view choices.
The create button makes way for a counter and the actions. ✓ Done or Esc leave the mode.
Ticking Advanced
- One by one: click the items (a click ticks, it no longer opens the editor).
- A whole range: tick the first, then Shift+click the last.
- A whole category: the box in front of its name, in the left-hand column. The one for All ticks the whole tab.
During a search, the category boxes only apply to the items found.
A selection that doesn't get lost Expert
Searching, changing category or view changes what is shown, never what is ticked. So you can tick in one category, then another, then in search results.
- Ctrl+A (⌘+A) ticks everything shown.
- An amber pill next to the counter, “3 hidden”, reminds you of items ticked but out of view. Clicking it shows only the selection.
Camille searches for “follow-up”, ticks three results, searches for “quote”, ticks two more: the counter says 5, of which 3 hidden. She gives the “Sales” category to all five at once.
Acting on the selection Advanced
| Button | Effect |
|---|---|
| Category | Gives the same category to all of them (existing or new) |
| Favourites | Marks them all as favourites — or removes them, if they all already were |
| Export | Downloads a file with only the ticked items |
| Delete | Sends the items to the bin, after a summary |
After Category or Favourites, the selection stays ticked: you can chain another action.
Before deleting, Modula lists the items by category, flagging those not shown: untick the ones to keep. A batch deletion can be undone from the History tab.
Converting to SmartMails Expert
In the SmartTexts tab, with SmartMails turned on, the Convert button turns the whole selection into SmartMails, with a recipient and a subject set once for all. See Converting a whole batch.
From the keyboard Advanced
| Key | Effect |
|---|---|
| Esc | Leave Organize mode |
| Delete | Open the deletion summary |
| Ctrl+A | Tick everything shown |
