Inserting into the page

Modula inserts your text into the fields of most websites: webmails, CRMs, support tools, social networks, document editors. It recognises the editor in place and uses the right technique so the text arrives as intended.

In the fields of most websites Starter

Gmail, Outlook on the web, Notion, Confluence, contact forms, comment fields, the rich text editors of CRMs and support tools: a SmartText is inserted at the cursor, with its formatting when the editor accepts it.

Formatting or plain text Basic

In a rich editor, the SmartText arrives with its bold, headings and lists. In a plain field, it arrives as plain text: lists become lines starting with “-” or “1.”, indented by two spaces per level.

Where the cursor goes after insertion Expert

By default, the cursor goes to the end of the inserted text. A Cursor field in the SmartText puts it elsewhere: where you need to pick up typing.

Where nothing gets inserted Basic

  • Chrome's internal pages (chrome://…) and the Chrome Web Store are closed to every extension.
  • A page opened before Modula was installed must be reloaded once.
  • The Expander doesn't work in some isolated fields; the other tools do.
