Quick actions

Quick actions act on the selected text: copy it, turn it into a SmartText, or open it in a service — a map, a search engine, your CRM. They appear in the SelAction and in RightClick.

Turning quick actions on Advanced

How to
  1. Settings → Toolbox, SelAction tab, 🔗 Quick actions section.
  2. Tick Enable quick actions.

Four actions are supplied:

ActionEffect
📋 CopyCopies the selection; a message confirms the copy
📑 Add as SmartTextOpens the editor with the selection as content
🗺️ Google MapsLooks up the selection as an address
🔍 GoogleSearches Google for the selection
Good to know

A quick action that opens a service sends the selection to that service: you trigger it yourself, and only when you decide to.

Creating your own action Advanced

An action is a web address containing {{selection}} where the selected text should go. Almost every service has a search address of this kind.

Example

Address: https://crm.example.com/search?q={{selection}}. Camille selects a customer reference in an email, clicks the “Customer record” action: the record opens in a new tab.

How to
  1. In the 🔗 Quick actions section, click + New.
  2. Choose an icon (an emoji — the ▾ button opens the picker), a name, and the address with {{selection}}.
  3. Save.
Good to know

To find a service's address: search it for a word, for example TEST, copy the address of the results page, and replace TEST with {{selection}}.

Where to show them Advanced

Each action has three boxes: On, SelAction and RightClick. In RightClick, the actions are in the 🚀 Quick actions submenu, visible when text is selected.

Copy and Add as SmartText stay in the SelAction only: right-clicking already offers these two gestures, in Chrome's menu and in Modula's.
