Getting started

The icon menu

Clicking the Modula icon in Chrome's toolbar opens a small menu: your plan, how much content you have, Data health and access to Settings. It is Modula's dashboard.

Keeping the icon within reach Starter

Chrome tidies extension icons into a jigsaw-piece menu. Pin Modula's icon: it stays visible, and so do its badges (Data health).

How to
  1. Click the jigsaw-piece icon, to the right of the address bar.
  2. Click the pin next to Modula.

Your plan Starter

At the top of the menu, a badge shows your plan: Free, Trial — 11 days left or Pro. See Plan & Licence.

Your counters Starter

Below the plan, the number of your SmartTexts and SmartMails. On the Free plan, the limit is shown alongside: 12 / 20 SmartTexts. The examples installed by the introduction are not counted.

Good to know

SmartMails only appear if you have turned them on: “0 SmartMails” would suggest something is missing.

Data health Advanced

The menu shows the check-up of your library: a backup to make, duplicates, conflicting keywords, the bin… Each point has a button that takes you where it is dealt with. Nothing is changed from the menu itself.

When all is well, a single line: Your data is in good shape, with the time of the last check. Check again runs the analysis on the spot.

See Data health.

Opening AutoFetch Advanced Pro

The ⚡ AutoFetch line opens the AutoFetch panel on the side of Chrome, to link fields to your pages. It doesn't show if AutoFetch is turned off in the Toolbox. See AutoFetch.

Backing up from the menu Basic

When a backup is due, it is the first line of the check-up: Unsaved changes, with the date of the last backup.

  • Back up writes the backup without leaving the page, if Chrome has already allowed Modula to save files. Otherwise, the button takes you to the Options, where the permission is given.
  • Later hides the reminder for 24 hours.

See Backup.

Opening Settings Starter

The Settings button opens Modula's Options page: your SmartTexts and SmartMails, categories, settings and documentation. If the page is already open in a tab, Modula goes back to it instead of opening another one.

Going Pro Starter

On the Free plan only, a ⚡ Go Pro button appears at the bottom of the menu. It opens the purchase page. During the trial and with a Pro licence, there is nothing to buy: the button does not appear.
