Modula Modula documentation

Settings

Options

The Options section of the Settings sets Modula's appearance and how dates and times are written, for your whole library. The light or dark theme is chosen with one click, at the top of the Options.

Text size Basic

Three sizes — Small, Medium, Large — change the size of Modula's text: the Options, and the tools in your pages (Sidebar, Launcher, Overbar, SelAction, insertion form).

Only the text changes: images, panel widths and margins keep their size. And the text Modula inserts into your pages is never changed.

Good to know

On Modula's pages, Chrome's Ctrl + and Ctrl − enlarge everything else, and add to this setting.

Light or dark theme Basic

The 🌙 button, at the top right of the Options, switches between the light and the dark theme. Your choice is remembered, and used by the icon menu too.

Date and time formats Advanced

The Date & time variable formats card chooses how date, time, and date and time fields are written, across your whole library. Each field can then get its own format (see Dynamic fields).

Each list shows the formats applied to the present moment: you choose what you see. For example, for a date: 28/09/2026, 28.09.2026, 2026-09-28, 28 September 2026, Monday 28 September 2026; for a time: 14:30, 14:30:00, 2:30 PM.

Day and month names follow Chrome's language.

Custom formats Expert

Choose Custom… at the bottom of the list, and build your format with these markers; the preview appears below the field.

MarkerGivesMarkerGives
DD · D05 · 5 (day)HH · H09 · 9 (hour, 24 h)
MM · M09 · 9 (month)h · a9 · PM (hour, 12 h)
MMMM · MMMSeptember · Sep.mm · ssminutes · seconds
YYYY · YY2026 · 26DDDD · DDDMonday · Mon.
Example

DD.MM.YY HH:mm gives “28.09.26 14:30”. Careful: in a format, every marker letter is replaced — for a sentence with words, use the surrounding text of a date field instead.

Time picker interval Advanced

In the insertion form, the time is picked from a list of times: every 15 minutes by default. Time picker interval offers 1, 5, 10, 15, 20 or 30 minutes. With 1 minute, the field becomes Chrome's time picker, for an exact time.

Good to know

The interval also rounds the times recognised by AutoCopy: with 15 minutes, 14:37 becomes 14:30.
